The Trappers Association of Nova Scotia delivers the Fur Harvester Education Courses on behalf of the NS Department of Lands and Forestry (DLF). You can fill out our form below and submit your payment as requested on the form, or apply on the DLF website and pay online with a credit card.
All applications received prior to August 1st will be given priority for courses the same year. Those applications received after the deadline will be processed within the same year only if time and space permit, otherwise they will be held over and processed the following year.
Typically there is one spring course held in April in the Truro area (locations my change) and four fall courses held in September at Tusket, Baddeck and two in the Truro area (locations may change.) We will endeavor to get you in the course closest to your home. You will be contacted in writing as to time, date and location of your course once this information is available.
Tentative Dates for courses are:
- Baddeck – Second Saturday of September
- Truro area (locations may change):
- April (date to be set closer to time of course)
- Third Saturday of September (approximate date, date to be set closer to time of course)
- Third Sunday of September (approximate date, date to be set closer to time of course)
- Tusket – Fourth Saturday of September (approximate date, date to be set closer to time of course)
