Summer Rendezvous
Workshop & Convention
Family Summer Rendezvous 2009
Rendezvous will be held August 14th, 15th, and 16th
If you're looking for fun, entertainment and a weekend filled with something for the whole family, plan to attend the Trappers' Association of Nova Scotia Family Summer Rendezvous at the Twin Lake Campground, Hibernia Rd near Caldonia NS, off highway #8.
Activities will include:
Friday: Setup, Welcome, Meet and Greet
Saturday: Full Day of Activities
T.A.N.S. Booth open all day!
7:00am to 9:00am - Free Coffee and Donuts
9:00am - Welcome and Opening Remarks
9:30am - Fishing Derby for Children (under16 years, fish to be measured by Brian Purcell)
10:00am to 12:00pm - Trappers' Competitions - Ring Toss, Beaver and Muskrat Throw (open to men, women and children)
12:00pm to 1:00pm - Lunch Break - T.A.N.S. Booth Open
1:00pm to 4:30pm - More Events- Tub Races, B.B. Shoot, Trapping Demos by Lloyd, Archery Demos with Tony, and a chance to watch Joel prepare us a sampling of BBQ BEAVER
5:00pm - Supper - BBQ in Hall (buffet style bring your own dishes & utensils)
7:00pm - Auction (please bring items to be auctioned)
9:30pm - Dance for Rendezvous Registrants ONLY! (Music by STAGECOACH)
Sunday:
8:00am to 9:00am - Free Coffee and Donuts
9:00am - Fly Casting Contest and Plank Walk
11:00am - Deadline for Fishing Derby
1:00pm - Closing Remarks and Awards, Prizes, Trophies
Clean-up - Everyone's Help Needed
Weekend Admission:
TANS members Family $50.00
Non-Members Family $65.00
Individual $45.00 (Includes TANS membership)
Day Passes Available:
Family includes 2 adults & 2 children under 16

2009 Workshop and Convention
The annual workshop and convention will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Kentville on March 5th, 6th and 7th, 2009.
Thursday and Friday: Workshop - Registration fee $10.00
Free overnight space requiring oone's own sleeping-gear
Ladies auxiliary meals available for purchase Thursday at lunchtime, Friday and Saturday breakfast and lunchtime
9:00am - 5:00pm - Pelt preparation demonstrations, hands on practice requiring your own apron and knife
Humane trapping demonstrations, preparation and care of trapping gear
6:30pm to evening - Discussion on laws & regulations, trappers ethics, E.U. agreement, wood survival, trap safety, fur management, lure making, dog proofing techniques, videos, and other topics.
Saturday: Convention - $2.00 Admission Fee

Pelt Competition Point System
8:00am - Registration begins for pelt entries
9:00am - Pelt competition entries, pelting & trapping demonstrations, contest, booths, trapping supplies, videos, membership renewals, ladies auxiliary meals available, meet and greet
10:00am - Deadline for pelt competition entries, Note time changes open pelt competition judging and comments
11:00am - Sportsman's auction. Bring donation of new, or like new items, it is appreciated
12:00pm - Dinner sponsored by the ladies auxiliary of Kentville Legion
1:00pm - Auction continuation, announcement of pelt competition winners, presentation of awards, certificates and prizes, introduction of special guest speakers
2:30pm - Annual general business meeting, minutes of previous agm, president's reports, financial report, resolutions, nominating committee report and election of officers, other business, and adjournment
